Online konferanse med European National Committee Network (ENCN)

ENCN er et nettverk av alle de europeiske nasjonale komitéene for beskyttelse av dyr brukt til vitenskapelige formål som skal fremme harmonisering, kommunikasjon og samarbeid mellom landene. De hadde sitt første møte i Brussel i 2018, men den norske komitéen deltok for første gang på møtet i Sverige i 2019. På grunn av pandemien ble møtene i 2020 avlyst. Norge deltok igjen på årets møte (2021), som ble holdt som nettmøte 25.-26. mars, organisert av den tyske komitéen. 46 personer fra 21 land deltok.  

Temaer som ble diskutert den første dagen var: 

  • Hvordan dele “best practices” bachelor kurs med levende dyr
  • Fôring av rovdyr med overskuddsdyr av gnagere “Lært hjelpeløshet”–modellen 
  • “Harm-benefit”-analyse ved regulatorisk testing
  • Åpen forskning og forhåndsregistrering  

Den andre dagen ble deltakerne delt inn i grupper for å diskutere følgende tema: 

  1. EURL ECVAMs anbefaling om produksjon av antistoffer uten bruk av dyr 
  2. Dokumentasjon av gjennomført forsøksdyrlærekurs i søknaden ved godkjenning av forsøk  
  3. Forutsetninger for lik søknadsbehandling i de forskjellige medlemslandene

Online conference with the European National Committee Network (ENCN) 

ENCN is the network of all the European national committees for protection of animals used for scientific purposes working on harmonization, communication and cooperation between the countries. The first meeting was in Brussel in 2018, but the Norwegian committee attended for the first time in Sweden in 2019. The 2020 meeting was cancelled, due to the pandemic. Norway attended again at this year‘s meeting, that was arranged as a web seminar by the German committee 25th – 26th of March. There were 46 participants, from 21 different countries.  

These topics was discussed the first day: 

  • Sharing of best practices (Codes of Practice)
  • Undergraduate student education involving live animals
  • Feeding of surplus animals (including GM mice)
  • The learned helplessness model
  • Harm-benefit analysis in regulatory testing
  • Open science and Preregistration 

The second day the participants was divided into groups and had workshops on these topics: 

  1. EURL ECVAM recommendations on non-animal-derived antibodies 
  2. LAS education in the application/approval of experiments 
  3. Prerequisites for mutual recognition of project authorizations / licensing
